Glass recycling is nothing else but a proper waste management. Glass, due to its construction and chemical composition is not a treat for the environment, the only burden associated with the use of glass is that it does not decompose and can lie in landfill sites.

Nevertheless the technological development allow even 100% of economic and ecological management of glass waste. Glass is the only plastic having the ability to multiple recycling without losing its properties.

Every kind of cullet has its own way of recycling. In the case of container glass the process of recycling begins when the consumer separate glass on account of the color. To white containers goes clear glass, and to green containers- colorful. To responsibilities of recycling companies belong among others separating foreign bodies, mostly metal elements such as caps and plastic elements being for example in the necks of bottles. Such separated glass is being washed, dried and crushed to fraction smaller than 35mm.

Important is to separate from the glass all foreign bodies such as: ceramics, stones, soil, coal etc. Cullet should be stored on paved squares in specially prepared for it containers. Then we are sure that this glass waste does not have other contaminations.

Important phase of glass recycling is separation flat glass from container glass. Those two kinds of glass differs in temperature of melting (higher temperature for flat glass). That is the reason why container glass is delivered to container glass factory and flat glass to window glass factories. Reuse of glass waste allow on saving original glass raw material such as: sand, soda and calcareous powder, as well as reducing production costs and reducing the need for thermal energy. This in turn reduces emissions of CO2, SO, CL, F, Nox, and dusts. Furthermore, the use of cullet prolongs the life of blast furnaces.

Cullet can also be used in the production of:

  • fiberglass, mats, insulation panels and laminates,
  • cellular glass,
  • glass micro balls,
  • cement,
  • grit, cullet,
  • porous material.


Without a doubt, glass is one of the most important plastics that are used in almost every area of our lives. It is the only material that has unique features such as fro e.g. not losing its properties despite repeated treatment.

It can be recycled in many ways and the most importantly, it is very beneficial both from economical and ecological point of view.

Usage of glass produces glass waste, whether it is during production process or in the everyday usage. The Act of 14th of December 2012 on Waste (Coll. Laws of 2013 item 21) calls any substance or object which holder discards, intends or is obliged to get rid of.

Waste glass in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance on the waste, can be classified into one of six categories: 10 – waste from thermal processes, 15 – waste packaging, absorbents, wiping cloths, filter materials and protective clothing not included in the other groups, 16 – waste not included in the other groups, 17 – waste from constructions, renovations and demolition of buildings and road infrastructure, 19 – waste from: ducting and equipment used for waste management, sewage fining and purification of drinking water as well as water for industrial purposes, 20 – municipal waste with fractions collected selectively.

Glass waste – code 10 11 12
is formed in the glass industry and glass processing plants (cutting, grinding, hardening, etc.). Formed in such way cullet, due to the similar chemical composition and the color corresponding to the production is returned to the process of technological production of glass.

Firma Artglas Recycling sammelt auch Abfälle aus der Demontage von Autoscheiben. Die Autoscheiben werden einem Recyclingunternehmen übergeben, welches Folie vom Glas trennt.

Im Falle von Scherben aus Glasverpackungen arbeiten wir mit Unternehmern zusammen, die selektive Abfallsammlung organisieren, sowie mit Brauereien, Polmos-Betrieben, Obst- und Gemüseverarbeitungsanlagen. Die auf diese Weise gewonnene Scherbe wird in Bezug auf Farbe getrennt und deshalb unterscheiden wir:

  • Farbloses Glas
  • Braunes Glas
  • Grünes Glas
  • Mix


Glasmehl ist ein Material,

das sich durch sehr feine Körnung

von weniger als 65 µm auszeichnet.




Scherbe aus dem Verpackungsglas kommt zur Recyclinganlage, dann werden Zerkleinerungsprozesse auf Fraktion kleiner als 55 mm unterzogen. Die folgende Phase ist die Trennung von Fremdkörpern weiß Kronkorken aus Metall, verschiedene Arten von Verschlusskappen aus Kunststoff und Gummi.

Bei Artglas Recycling legen wir großen Wert auf die richtige Lagerung aller Glasabfälle.

Die Fläche, auf der sie basiert, muss entsprechend angepasst werden. Muss frei von Schmutz wie Erde, Sand, Steinen u.ä. Auch hier ist etwas dran. Das von uns Gewonnene Glas wird nicht mit anderen Abfällen verbunden. Die Fahrzeuge zum Transport von Scherbe sind entsprechend voreingestellt.
